Applications for the 2011–2012 Environmental Stewardship Program (ESP) are open until 5 March.

The ESP round two funding focuses on South Australia and will be conducted in the regions of Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges, Northern and Yorke, and the South Australian Murray Darling Basin NRM region. It targets peppermint box grassy woodland and iron-grass natural temperate grassland ecological communities, as listed under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.

ESP provides private land managers the opportunity to be paid for up to 15 years to undertake agreed management actions. These plans must be over and above normal regulatory responsibilities and protect one or more identified ecological communities on their land. Eligible land managers include farmers, indigenous communities, and other managers of private freehold and leasehold land.
